Tumor Microenvironment Activated Vanadium−Doped Carbon Dots for Fluorescence Imaging and Chemodynamic Therapy

چکیده

The multifunctional platform response to the tumor microenvironment (TME) is critical for high-precision diagnosis and treatment of cancer with low systemic toxicity. In this regard, vanadium-doped carbon dots (V−CDs) have been developed TME-activated fluorescence imaging chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Due Forster resonance energy transfer caused by doped vanadium, obtained V−CDs displayed quenched fluorescence. Once entering tumor, ability are stimulated reaction between vanadium overexpressed H2O2 in a weak acid TME. Meanwhile, hydroxyl radicals generated catalytic could induce oxidative damage cells CDT, while showing less cytotoxicity side effects normal cells. Therefore, well-designed be used CDT maintaining an “inactive” status tissues ensure biological toxicity, satisfying clinical requirements accurate efficient tumors. Our research provides effective strategy designing preparing nanotheranostic drugs responsive TME treatment.

Carbon Quantum Dots for Zebrafish Fluorescence Imaging

Carbon quantum dots (C-QDs) are becoming a desirable alternative to metal-based QDs and dye probes owing to their high biocompatibility, low toxicity, ease of preparation, and unique photophysical properties. Herein, we describe fluorescence bioimaging of zebrafish using C-QDs as probe in terms of the preparation of C-QDs, zebrafish husbandry, embryo harvesting, and introduction of C-QDs into e...

Quantum Dots as Multifunctional Materials for Tumor Imaging and Therapy

The rapidly developing field of quantum dots (QDs) provides researchers with more options for imaging modalities and therapeutic strategies. In recent years, QDs were widely used as multifunctional materials for tumor imaging and therapy due to their characteristic properties such as semiconductive, zero-dimension and strong fluorescence. Nevertheless, there still exist the challenges of employ...

An enzymatically activated fluorescence probe for targeted tumor imaging.

Beta-galactosidase is a widely used reporter enzyme, but although several substrates are available for in vitro detection, its application for in vivo optical imaging remains a challenge. To obtain a probe suitable for in vivo use, we modified our previously developed activatable fluorescence probe, TG-betaGal (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2005, 127, 4888-4894), on the basis of photochemical and photophys...

Engineering iodine-doped carbon dots as dual-modal probes for fluorescence and X-ray CT imaging

X-ray computed tomography (CT) is the most commonly used imaging technique for noninvasive diagnosis of disease. In order to improve tissue specificity and prevent adverse effects, we report the design and synthesis of iodine-doped carbon dots (I-doped CDs) as efficient CT contrast agents and fluorescence probe by a facile bottom-up hydrothermal carbonization process. The as-prepared I-doped CD...

Ultrabright and Multicolorful Fluorescence of Amphiphilic Polyethyleneimine Polymer Dots for Efficiently Combined Imaging and Therapy

Multifunctional nanoparticles as theranostic tools hold great potential for its unique and efficient way to visualize the process of disease treatment. However, the toxicity of conventional fluorescent labels and difficulty of functionalization limit their widespread use. Recently, a number of amino-rich polymers have demonstrated high luminescent fluorescence but rarely showed potential for in...
